One of the most romantic meals I have ever experienced was during my birthday meal in Dubai at L’Olivo Ristorante at the Rixos The Palm Dubai.

Knowing I wanted Italian sharpened my search when choosing the right birthday dinner venue. I couldn’t care less about counting calories on a daily anyway, but it’s my mo’effing birthday so I’m eating gooood tonight and that means a hell of a lot of carbs.

 

Researching into L’Olivo, it’s Italian and Mediterranean inspired dishes cooked up by award winning culinary specialists and accolades, such as taking home the Worlds Luxury Hotel Winner 2017 Award won my heart. So, as you know word of mouth marketing is the best form, so when my foodie cousin (who eats about everything but is super picky) couldn’t stop talking about the L’Olivo Tomohawk steak, I knew I had to try it for myself.

The night started with a warm welcome from Head Chef Azizz and a Benihana style theme in which the salad was prepared and cooked before us. For mains, I chose the Wagyu and Tomahawk Steak. WHEN I TELL YOU THESE WERE THE BEST STEAKS I HAVE EVER TASTED and my WORLD HAS NOT BEEN THE SAME SINCE, I am not lying.

Chef Azziz’s spectacular service, live violin music and Michelin style food crafted the night into one of the most authentic birthday meals of my time.

 My mum always says to me ‘you have eyes bigger than your stomach’, and that statement came to life during desert. You know you’re full when you have to undo your top button on your trousers, but that was not going to stop me from indulging into the ‘LOlivo Memory’ – the chefs signature dessert. It was one of the bigger platter I have had and it was PHENOMENAL. I literally cannot wait to go back to the Rixos and eat the Tomahawk and Wagyu. Thank you to the whole team, and Chef Azizz who went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
