Just as the excitement of layering becomes thinner, and the desire to get into a bikini becomes heavier, the dawn of 2018 points us towards an incredibly exciting thought…our 2019 wardrobe.
With the luxury of fashion houses showcasing their collections in advance, we can indulge in visions of our next season asthetic #lewks right now. Doing this a few months before we get the privilege of seeing these trends on the high street will mean that when they do, you can be one of the first fashionista babes to wear them.
1. Summer Waterproofs
If last summer taught us anything, it’s that you can come out with a blow-dry fresh out of the salon to a rain shower, making you question all your life choices. Bikini, sunglasses, and shorts in hand, I am sure that these waterproof coat should serve you well.
2. Tie-Dye
Tie-Dye was never a print I would jump up for joy for, but 2019 is looking a lot more chicer. With a bold matching two-piece or maxi, it won’t feel so much like that dreaded60s print, but more so a fresher, brighter and fun look.
3. Oversized Hats
Job spec of an oversized hat: A quick glam look after having a restless night, eye bags so bad they cannot be covered by concealer and hair too out of control to handle without professional help. Just as they were a life saver in SS18, I can’t wait to bury myself into a oversized hat this year on those low key days.
4. Fringing
YASSSSS. FRINGING. In my opinion, fringing never really went out. Yes, you’re not rocking it everyday, but I don’t think fringing ever really went out. I wasn’t a fan of the cowboy boot last summer, but I want fringed handbags, jackets, skirts and whatever can be made in-between.
5. Sensible shorts
Bicyle shorts went viral when Kim K stepped out in them. As Kourtney Kardash says, she’s got us all rolling around like we are part of the Tour De France…but who gives a eff because they are EFFORTLESS. All I need is a work blazer, and a pair of heels and BAM…I have an outfit. This season, everyone is going to be rocking a much looser look. Perfect for summer, since we’ll be able to be comfy in a boyish alternative.
6. Tight pleats
Pleats are going to be your go to for maximum accentuation of your curves.. I’m excited for all sorts of movement
7. Neon
One of my best friends channeled neon this whole year, and stood out time after time. Absolutely perfect for concerts, I think you too should be extra brave!
8. Puffed Shoulders
Slightly Victorian, but a wide neck and puffed shoulders can be so edgy. Moving away from padded arms, let’s think more puffy.
