I was hosted by the infamous Sofitel for my Birthday Brunch and let me tell you…I WANTED TO FACE PLANT EVERYTHINGGG! With a view of JBR, a huge selection of world flavors infused, and an interior filled with leather plush seats, Le Grand is certainly sophisticated.
Every FRIYAY from 1pm-4pm, you can enjoy this mouthwatering buffet at a cost of AED 359 per person with house drinks (prices vary depending on choice of drinks). I’m so excited writing this, I need to cut straight to dessert. If you REALLY know me, you’d know that I had a huge chocolate éclair obsession. Fun fact, I would spontaneously wake up every night at 5Am with no alarm and eat a chocolate éclair #nojudgementsplease. This gave way to being super hyper for half hour, crashing and then having the best sleep ever…dreaming about guess what (yeah, you got it in one). I see eclairs now and I’m like meh! You know what they say, too much of anything becomes the opposite and this makes me sad. For this reason, the Sofitel Brunch was kinda special as it reignited my love for chocolate eclairs. It was also the French flair that complimented every gastronomic encounter including homemade foie gras, moules marinières and international flavours with sushi, oysters, Alsatian Sauerkraut and scrumptious beef roast. I found the handmade sushi to be my favourite and picked up a few skills myself. The atmosphere was lively, friendly and I took note of how attentive the staff were despite the chaos. There was a very good variety of cuisines, and potentially something for everyone. However, to improve the experience, I would say that some more meat and gluten free options are needed to ensure that all needs are met.
I had a real ‘pinch me’, ‘I am so lucky’, ‘I’m going to need 5 tooth fillings moment after Brunch’ after Hani and the team blessed me with the most beautiful chocolate birthday cake and heartfelt card *blushes*. I thought this was an amazing personal touch and made it very special. I vouch that the service is impeccable and Brunch at Sofitel is perfect for locals, holiday-goers and families. The hotel situated on JBR is fantastic for convenience and I’d like to thank the whole team at Sofitel for making my birthday ONE TO REMEMBER!
