“What inspired me to create this brand was the influence from elite society’s in multicultural countries, attending opulent events and wearing glamorous clothing with the most extravagant accessories. Nonetheless, I noticed that they came at a very high price. As a women, I would drool over the looks amongst the elite and dressing as elegantly . As a result of this desire, I decided to make an accessory that would incorporate the utmost intricate and elaborate handwork from embroidery to embellishments on rich velvet and silk garments…particularly, at a more affordable price range’’ (Founder of Alexaandra West).

With this vision, Alexaandra West has certainly given her customers a taste of this opulent lifestyle, without the extravagant price tag. The business mogul behind this brand certainly is unlike the average adolescent in her early twenties. With investments in property development, and various international projects, she ensures she delivers excellence to each customer – despite her busy schedule. Beautiful both inside and out, it is a rare sight seeing someone balance everything so eloquently.

A collaboration with Alexaandra West was more than simply promoting a piece of clothing I adore, it was about highlighting to every woman that you can follow your dreams as a designer while having your hands in a number of other pies. It’s about bringing your vision to life, and disregarding anything mediocre. It’s truly about being the best you can be, and creating a product that you are proud to attach your name to. It takes courage to create a brand which often becomes your little baby, and then opening the flood gates for the world to quite possibly both praise or criticise it. However, what I have learnt from working with Alexaandra West is that YOU HAVE THE POWER. This is your brand, your message, your vision – this is all about you. There is so much beauty in creating something different, even if some people don’t or are unwilling to vibe with it.  Stay focused, stay passionate and create something that you always wished you saw but never did…and watch the fans roll in.

The pictures below are of the Velvet Cape that were kindly sent out to me to honestly review. I believe the quality of the cape was everything I was expecting and while I was worried about it being too long (this is the 5ft,3 me talking), it was the right length. I styled the cape with Capri trousers and a pair of open toe black heels, which welcomed a ton of compliments at an event I attended. Below are some pictures of the unique West Collection. Do stay tuned for pictures of the shawls that I will be promoting very very soon – they are stunning!
